Residential Design Trends

In today's market, homebuyers are looking for a home that adheres to their current lifestyle. According to Home Design Central, some of the top features that buyers look for in their new home are livability, a flexible floorplan, and easy maintenance. The ease of an open floor plan enables a homeowner to easily entertain and substitute rooms to function for a purpose that suites their individual needs. Large walk-in closets and storage space are also a necessity. A new home that features "bonus spaces" offer great value to a homebuyer, contributing to the flexible floorplan. The link below explains these residential design trends in more detail. Check it out!

Originally built in 1888 as the Berkshire County Home for Aged Women, the design entailed restoring and replicating prominent historic details, which pay homage to the Richardsonian Romanesque architecture, while incorporating a new transitional style that boasts the comforts of multifamily living in the modern age. The program houses 18 residential units along with shared amenities including dining cafe, reading and fitness and educational uses.
